I stopped at a farmers market to buy some groceries and saw a man sitting outside on a bench with a motor bike in front of him. Since Elise has been interested in acquiring an electric bike, I went over to talk to him. Turns out the bike wasn't electric after all; it was run on gasoline. Just like the scooters we owned almost 40 years ago, it would do 35 miles per hour and over 100 miles to the gallon. The man was not some young cycle enthusiast; he was a middle aged man who worked as a mechanic and rode the bike to work every day - summer and winter. He got the motor and whatever parts were needed to put it on his mountain bike for just $150.00 through an ad in a magazine. They had free copies of the magazine in the market and he went and got a copy for me. I cut out the ad and am saving it for Elise.
beach at county park near Angola, Indiana
I stopped for lunch at a very pleasant county park by an almost deserted beach , which was rather surprising on such a hot August day. I guess most folks are happy to stay home with their air conditioning.
Sign in the office of Campground Sack-In near Angola, Indiana: "Unattended children will be captured and sold as slaves."
